Edrolo is an EdTech company which creates resources for secondary schools around Australia. I worked here as a graphic designer for 5 and a half years on a variety of learning resources for students to use.
I was the primary designer and project manager for junior maths during multiple builds. This included creating the entire textbook template from the initial concept phase, all the way through to the final print phase.
Maths can be quite an overwhelming subject for most students, so creating a design that was both calming and engaging was very important. This was taken into consideration with the the colours used. Warm purples and gentle blues were incorporated as the primary colours to achieve this.
Chemistry is a subject mostly taken by more advanced students, this was considered when creating the design for the textbook. The overall tone of the book was a lot more serious. This is demonstrated through the use of real life images, as opposed to simplified graphical images.
To help ease students cognitive load, I drew on parallels between the textbook design, and the VCAA (Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority) exam design. This was to help VCE students prepare as much as possible for their upcoiming exams.
I was the primary designer and project manager for the junior science digital platform resources. This included year 7–10 across multiple state curriculums.
All resources here were designed for the screen, and included presentations and interactive questions.
